Facilitating Equitable Leadership Roles

Module Description

Gender equity is becoming increasingly important in the classroom, but what about school leadership? Great equity in leadership roles is associated with higher learner achievement. In this module teachers will learn the steps to create more equitable leadership roles in their school, including examining the current leadership, gathering information from staff on barriers to leadership, and putting steps in place to sustain equitable leadership.

Module Objectives

In this module school leaders will learn how to facilitate equitable leadership roles by first understanding the current gender distribution in leadership at their school. Then leaders will learn how to gather diverse voices and learn about barriers to leadership that prevent some teachers from progressing. Lastly, leaders will learn how to sustain equitable leadership through recruitment, onboarding, and continuous training.
